Both UVA and UVB rays are responsible for the photo-ageing effects of the sun, skin thickening and inflammation while the more intense UVB rays that are much stronger in the summer cause sunburn, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and wrinkles as well as breakdown of collagen in the matrix of the skin, which is a sign of skin ageing.
